Da Nang, Guangxi boost seaway tourism development

The authorities of Da Nang City (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) have agreed on the expansion of cooperation and development of seaports and seaway tourism between the two sides.

Da Nang and Guangxi have many similarities, such as seaports and famous scenic spots to develop tourism. The two localities would expand cooperation in port services and seaway tourism.

Da Nang’s authorities backed proposals as mutually discussed. The two localities have favourable conditions, such as the distance between the Da Nang ports and Guangxi’s and the establishment of the Consulate General of China in Da Nang, facilitating trade between Da Nang and Chinese localities and partners.

Till now, Da Nang has set up a friendship and official cooperation with some Chinese localities, namely Shandong, Jiangsu and the Macao Special Administrative Region, and Kunming (Yunnan Province).

Da Nang is the final destination of the East-West economic corridor, so sending shipments from Myanmar, Thailand and Laos to Da Nang ports will be convenient. Meanwhile, some Guangxi ports function as connecting ports to ship on cargo to Europe.

In 2022, after Vietnam’s reopening of international tourism, Chinese guests visiting the central coastal city reached over 15,000.
