Australian reporter describes choosing where to go as Vietnam’s only challenge
VOV.VN - Australian news outlet 9News has described Vietnam as an ideal family holiday destination, with senior travel reporter Jemima Skelley saying the only challenge is deciding where to go.
Skelley, who specialises in travel, said Vietnam has everything families could want in a holiday, including vibrant cities, pristine beaches, rich culture, excellent cuisine and great value for money.
Reflecting on her 2024 visit before welcoming her first child, she said returning to Vietnam was an easy decision, thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, convenient direct flights from Australia and affordable travel. “The only tricky thing about a trip to Vietnam, though, is trying to figure out where to visit,” she wrote.
To help travellers plan their trip, 9News, citing Vietnam BestPrice Travel, recommended five of the country's top family-friendly destinations.
Hanoi tops the list for its vibrant atmosphere, world-class street food and interactive cultural experiences. Recommended activities include food tours, Train Street, the Lotte Observation Deck and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.
According to the news outlet, Ninh Binh is described as a peaceful escape from the capital, with highlights including a boat tour through the UNESCO-listed Trang An Landscape Complex, cycling through the countryside, climbing Hang Mua for panoramic views and spotting rare primates at Cuc Phuong National Park.
Meanwhile, Da Nang is praised for combining modern urban infrastructure with beautiful beaches. Must-visit attractions include Sun World Ba Na Hills, the Dragon Bridge's weekend fire and water show, and the Marble Mountains.
Phu Quoc is recommended for a classic island holiday, featuring the record-breaking Hon Thom cable car, Aquatopia Water Park, island-hopping cruises, night markets and VinWonders.
Nha Trang rounds out the list as a sunny beach destination ideal for families, offering calm waters year-round, VinWonders on Hon Tre Island, Thap Ba mud baths, the National Oceanographic Museum and island-hopping speedboat tours.
