Adora Magic City brings around 4,500 tourists to Ha Long
VOV.VN - Panama-flagged mega cruise ship Adora Magic City carrying nearly 4,500 passengers and crew docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port on August 19, marking the return of large-scale cruise vessels to Ha Long after a prolonged hiatus.
The welcome ceremony of the cruise ship from Shenzhen, China, was attended by representatives from the administration of Quang Ninh, local Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, competent agencies and the management of Ha Long International Cruise Port.
Upon their arrival, passengers aboard the Adora Magic City explored Quang Ninh’s famous attractions, and enjoyed local cuisine and shopping for signature regional products.
Bui Quang Tuan, director of Ha Long International Cruise Port, said that the safe arrival of the Adora Magic City marks a significant milestone for the port as handling a vessel of over 135,000 GT with a capacity of approximately 4,500 passengers requires seamless coordination in infrastructure, operations, security, safety, and passenger services.
This is an opportunity for the port to further enhance operational quality, meet the increasingly high standards of international cruise lines, and ensure a convenient experience for travelers, he added.
Measuring 323.6 metres in length and spanning 16 decks, the cruise ship Adora Magic City accommodates up to 5,246 passengers across 2,125 cabins. The ship has 16 floors and offers 40,000 square meters of public space, featuring restaurants, shopping areas, performance stages, a water park, and various entertainment amenities.
Previously, the Ha Long International Cruise Port had already welcomed large-capacity cruise ships such as the World Dream carrying 4,204 passengers in 2018 and the Costa Venezia with 4,982 passengers in 2019. Following a hiatus of several years, the arrival of the Adora Magic City has renewed hopes for the return of large-scale cruise liners to Ha Long.
The event took place amidst a period of positive growth in cruise operations at the Ha Long International Cruise Port. During the opening seven months of 2026, the port received 45 ship calls, representing 122% of the volume recorded during the same period in 2025. The port expects to have 30 additional calls till the end of 2026, bringing the total number of ships for the year to around 75.
