Additional localities to join pilot scheme to welcome foreign arrivals
VOV.VN - Localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Kien Giang, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Quang Ninh, and Binh Dinh have been told to make thorough preparations in order to deploy a pilot programme aimed at welcoming back international arrivals in the near future.
The move comes following Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh assigning relevant agencies and the People's Committees of these localities to proactively carry out the pilot scheme, while simultaneously ensuring COVID-19 pandemic measures to receive foreign tourists in a safe and effective manner in line with current regulations.
In fact, the south central province of Binh Dinh has prepared roughly 2,000 five-star standard rooms on the Phuong Mai peninsula in order to welcome back international arrivals.
Furthermore, the locality has implemented vaccinations for all residents in the region, with international tourists being permitted to visit the city of Quy Nhon under a closed tour if the pandemic is brought under control in the time ahead.
Previously, the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang also submitted documents requesting permission to welcome back international tourists from January 1 under tour packages from Noi Bai International Airport, or through combined tourism programmes to various destinations among localities under the pilot scheme.
According to the schedule, Ha Giang will fully reopen to welcome international tourists in April.
