Tuna exports in Binh Dinh fetch better returns

VOV.VN - Tuna exports have been commanding a higher price in the international market as a result of improved quality resulting from implementing better post-harvest handling and chilling techniques, report Binh Dinh government officials.

Out of a recent shipment of eight fish to Japan, one 39kg-tuna sold for nearly VND12 million (more than US$500), said Deputy Director Tran Van Phuc of the Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Phuc said training programs taught by the Japan Kato Group along with fitting modernized post-harvest refrigeration equipment on 25 fishing vessels in the region are starting to pay huge dividends.
