Trade Counselors meet in HCM City

VOV.VN -On February 22, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a Conference of Trade Counselors in Ho Chi Minh city discussing trade activities.

The trade counselors asked domestic enterprises to stay more active in searching for markets and partners. Localities and enterprises urged trade councilors to provide them with more information.

Nguyen Trung Dung, Trade Counselor and head of Vietnam’s trade office in Japan, said trade counselors should be more active in doing research, negotiating and trade promotion.

Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Van Khoa suggested trade offices should offer more assistance to help companies  outline development strategies in line with international trade commitments to which Vietnam is a party.

Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director General of the trade ministry’s Import – Export Agency called on trade offices to liaise more closely with domestic agencies and make greater efforts to expand markets, remove trade barriers and minimize anti-dumping lawsuits.

The participants agreed that trade counselors served as a significant information channel to support businesses' integration process.
