Malaysia – ASEAN biggest trade partner of China

Malaysia remained the biggest trade partner of China in the ASEAN bloc with two-way trade reaching US$97.35 billion in 2015, according to Malaysian Prime Minister’s special envoy to China Ong Ka Ting. 

Between 2013-2014, the two nations saw a fast growing trade partnership, with their bilateral trade exceeding US$100 billion, Ong said. 

There is huge room for cooperation between the two countries’ small-and medium-sized enterprises and industries, services, and financial sector, he noted.

Malaysia and China expect to raise their bilateral trade to US$160 billion by 2017.
