Crab and crustacean exports increase sharply
VOV.VN - Crab and crustacean exports to foreign markets surged 46.3% to US$578.4 million in January compared to last year’s corresponding period, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
VASEP said tuna exports increased by 11% to US$36.8 million, while other kinds of fish rose 32.2% to US$105.9 million. Octopus and cuttlefish also saw a rise of 9.8% to US$38.4 million while crab and crustacean exports increased remarkably by 46.3% to US$13 million.
In January alone, seafood exports to ASEAN, the US, the Republic of Korea, China and Hong Kong soared 12% to 41.6%. On the contrary, seafood exports to Canada, Taiwan and Mexico dropped significantly to 37.7%.
