The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) is planning to add the “place of birth” to the new passport version to facilitate citizens’ seeking of visas to the Schengen countries.

VOV.VN - The Spanish Embassy in Vietnam issued a notice on August 8 stating that after finalising mandatory technical consultations with competent central agencies in Spain, these agencies have decided to officially recognise new-style Vietnamese passports which have a blue cover.

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Public Security will coordinate with ministries and sectors to study legal provisions so that the citizen’s place of birth can be added to the identity section of the new passport, according to Lieutenant General To An Xo.
