The value of Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery export to the European Union (EU) market reached US$2.1 billion in the first half of this year, down 16.6% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

VOV.VN - Agro-forestry and fishery exports earned a total of US$20.26 billion during the past five months of the year, of which rice represented a bright spot in the nation’s overall export turnover.

Fishery products shipped overseas earned US$2.63 billion for Vietnam between January and April, down 27.7% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Fisheries export value was estimated at US$1.85 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, a fall of 27% compared to the same period last year due to lower consumption and import demand under the impacts of inflation and economic recession, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Vietnam’s export of agro-forestry-aquatic products reeled in over US$3.7 billion in January, down 23% against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on December 30 announced that the agricultural sector has achieved all goals set for this year, including a growth rate of 3.36%, a record for many recent years.

Vietnam and Venezuela have favourble conditions to bolster cooperation in fisheries, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Viet Duyen said at a recent forum.

Agro-forestry-fishery exports stood at about US$49.04 billion in the first 11 months of 2022, higher than last year’s record of US$48.6 billion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) said.

Vietnam’s fishery export has completely recovered after the COVID-19 pandemic, reeling in US$10 billion as of November this year, said General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) Truong Dinh Hoe.
