Young Vietnamese weightlifter breaks three world records
VOV.VN - Vietnamese weightlifter K'Duong successfully won three gold medals on July 18 in the men’s 55kg weight category at the ongoing Asian Weightlifting Youth & Junior Championship in Uzbekistan, breaking three world records in the process.
K’Duong lifted 113kg in snatch and 137kg and 143kg in clean & jerk in two attempts.
With a total result of 256kg, K'Duong thereby broke three world records and three Asian records.
His teammate, Duong Tuan Kiet, also secured three silver medals in the same category as he recorded 112kg in snatch, 124kg in clean & jerk, achieving a total of 248kg.
Meanwhile, another Vietnamese weightlifter Do Tu Tung lifted 116kg in snatch, 143kg in clean & jerk, and a total of 259 kg in the 55kg youth category, thereby winning all three gold medals.
After two days of competition, Vietnamese weightlifters brought home 10 gold medals.
