Young local footballers to play in Japanese leagues

VOV.VN - Four players of Saigon FC departed for Japan on March 16 to play for teams in two divisions of the Japan Professional Football League (J-League).

The move will see Pham Van Luan and Vu Hong Quan play for Ryukyu FC in the J2 League, while Bui Ngoc Long and Nguyen Van Son will join Azul Claro Numazu FC in the J3 League.

Tran Hoa Binh, chairman of Saigon FC, appeared at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to say farewell to the four players.

According to Binh, the move showcases his desire to send young local players to Japan to hone their skills before returning to play for the Vietnamese side. The chairman added that he has also hired people to support them in learning Japanese.

Binh went on to state that Ngoc Long and Van Son will be able to play right away in the J3 League and will be given the opportunity soon, while Van Luan and Hong Quan must try their utmost to show their talent to play in the J2 League.

Recently, Nguyen Quang Hai, a star for both the national team star and Hanoi FC, expressed his desire to play for a foreign club.
