Vu Thi Trang claims second badminton title in Europe
VOV.VN - Vietnamese shuttler Vu Thi Trang won the women's singles title at the Future Series Nouvelle-Aquitaine 2026 in France on July 5, securing her second international title in Europe in just over two weeks.
The tournament's top seed defeated second seed Hristomira Popovska of Bulgaria, who is ranked 167th in the world, 21-6, 21-14 in the final.
Trang dominated the opening game before sealing the second after Popovska failed to neutralise her powerful smashes, wrapping up the match in straight games.
The victory came just over two weeks after Trang won the International Future Series 2026 in the Czech Republic. She has returned to the world's top 100 and is currently ranked No. 98.
Vietnam's Le Ngoc Van also competed at the Future Series Nouvelle-Aquitaine 2026, reaching the women's singles semi-finals before losing to Popovska.
In the men's singles, Phan Phuc Thinh was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
