VOV, VFF welcome launch of national futsal tournaments
VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) co-hosted a ceremony on March 24 in Ho Chi Minh City in order to lauch the National Futsal HDBank Championship and the Futsal HDBank National Cup 2021.
VOV vice president Tran Minh Hung, said this marks the fifth year that VOV, the VFF, and sponsor HDBank have collaborated for the purpose of organising the national futsal tournament. Indeed, the primary aim of the competition is to uncover local talents who can compete in upcoming international tournaments, including the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will take place later this year.
The National Futsal HDBank Championship 2021 is scheduled to take place from March 28 to July 26 nationwide.
The first stage of the contest will be held in Buon Ma Thuot city of Dak Lak province from March 28 to April 5 and will feature the participation of six teams.
The leading four teams will then qualify for the second stage of the tournament, whilst the best six teams from the 2020 version of the tournament will directly progress to the second stage.
All 10 teams are scheduled to compete in the first leg in Buon Ma Thuot city between March 9 and March 30, with Can Tho city hosting the second leg from July 5 to July 26.
The winner will then receive a cash prize of VND500 million before going on to compete in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Club Championship. In addition, the second-placed team will be awarded prize money of VND200 million and go on to represent the country at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Club Championship.
Furthermore, the Futsal HDBank National Cup 2021 is scheduled to take place in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong between September 1 and September 16.
