VN fighters through to Asian Kickboxing Champ 2022 finals

VOV.VN - Two Vietnamese kickboxers progressed to the final round of the Asian Kickboxing Championships 2022 after their outstanding victories in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 15.

Bui Hai Linh delighted fans by defeating her Kazakhstan opponent Alina Kamalova 2-1 in the women’s 52kg category to win a place in the finals which are set to take place on December 18.

Elsewhere, her teammate Tran Minh Hau made it to the final round of the men’s 63kg category after trouncing Met Borin of Cambodia 3-0 in the semi-finals.

After three days of the competition, Vietnamese kickboxers Nguyen Xuan Phuong and Nguyen The Huong successfully won two bronze medals. 

The Asian Kickboxing Championships 2022 kicked off on December 10 and are scheduled to conclude on December 18.

The regional event has witnessed the participation of hundreds of athletes from 21 countries and territories, including 10 from Vietnam.

The tournament is set to select the best kickboxers to compete at the World Combat Games 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which will take place from October 21 to 30, 2023.
