Vietnam’s U18 squad suffers elimination from AFF Championship
VOV.VN -Vietnam’s U18 national football team failed to progress from Group B at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U18 Championship 2019 after losing to Cambodia in their final group game in Ho Chi Minh City on August 15.

The second half saw the Cambodian side open the scoring through captain Sieng Chanthea.
After taking the lead, the Cambodian side played well and continued to attack. However, Y Eli Nie kept Vietnam in the game with several great saves.
Vietnamese player Kim Nhat then levelled the score through a great piece of skill.
Despite getting back into the match, Thy Lieng of Cambodia put Cambodia ahead after an assist from Chanthea.
The match ended with the final score 2-1 in favour of Cambodia.
Due to the loss, Vietnam failed to make the semifinals.
