There was panic during the closing stages of the match as Indonesia nearly snatched all three points. Vietnamese player Thanh Tin lost the ball in defence, allowing Indonesian player Saptaji to go through on goal. Fortunately, his shot was blocked before it could find the target.
After two matches both Vietnam and Indonesia are on four points, although Vietnam still top group B on goal difference.
The next round of fixtures will see Vietnam face Malaysia, while Indonesia will meet Australia.
All of Group B’s teams will try their best to finish the group in first in order to avoid facing off against Thailand, the first-place team in Group A.
The team that finishes first in Group B will face a weaker opponent in the semi-finals, therefore increasing their chance of making the finals and earning the right to compete in the AFC Futsal Championship Finals next year in Turkmenistan.
