Vietnamese U19 women’s team advance to Asian champ’s final round

The Vietnamese women’s U19 team secured a berth in the final round of the 2019 Asian U19 Football Championship in Thailand despite losing 1-2 to the Republic of Korea (RoK) on April 30.

In the 39th minute, Kim Soo-jin (number 6) opened the score for the RoK in their third match in Group B held in Hanoi, following a mistake of Vietnamese goalie Ngoc Anh.

After the break, the Korean players still made pressure on the Vietnamese rivals. But Vietnamese captain Tuyet Ngan took advantage of a rare chance in the 71st minute to equalize the core.

However, Kim scored the second and final goal for the RoK in the 83rd minute.

With the result, Vietnam have the same points and goal difference as Iran. But, Vietnam was give the ticket to the final round thanks to their fair play point in line with the organiser’s regulations.
