VOV.VN - Vietnamese pickleball players, led by Ly Hoang Nam and Truong Vinh Hien, are set to compete at the PPA Asia 500 Beijing Open 2026, which will take place in Beijing, China, from June 17-21.
Part of the PPA Tour Asia circuit, the tournament offers a prize pool of US$70,000 and ranking points for participating athletes.
The event is expected to attract hundreds of players from more than 30 countries and territories, making it one of Asia’s biggest pickleball events in 2026.
Vietnam will field a strong squad featuring several players in good form. Truong Vinh Hien enters the men’s singles draw as the No. 2 seed and is considered a contender for the title. Ly Hoang Nam, winner of the MB Hanoi Cup 2026 and currently ranked 15th in the PPA standings, is also among Vietnam’s notable contenders.
Other Vietnamese representatives include Nguyen Huu Hung Anh, who recently won the men’s singles title at the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open 2026, and Ho Thi Truc Tam, runner-up at the Macao Open 2026. Young players Sophia Phuong Anh and Sophia Huynh Tran will also compete.
The tournament will feature several top players from Asia and beyond, including top-seeded men’s singles player Zane Ford and women’s singles top seed Chao Yi Wang.
