Vietnam to face Mongolia and Venezuela at Army Games’ Tank Biathlon
VOV.VN - The tank team of the Vietnam People’s Army is set to compete against the tank crews of Mongolia, Venezuela, and Syria in the opening match of the Tank Biathlon event at the 2021 International Army Games.
The schedule was announced following a draw held on August 16 in Russia, with a total of 19 teams set to participate in the Tank Biathlon event being divided into two groups.
Group 1 will see the participation of tank crews from 11 countries, including Mongolia, Venezuela, Syria, Vietnam, and the hosts Russia.
The Vietnamese team will take part in the qualifying round of the Tank Biathlon event at 8 p.m. on August 23 following the opening ceremony of the Army Games 2021.
The best eight teams will then progress through to the semi-final round.
The International Army Games were first held in 2015 and is an annual Russian military sports event organised by the Ministry of Defense of Russia (MoD).
The 2021 version of the occasion set to take place from August 22 to September 4, will feature the participation of more than 40 countries.
The latest event marks the fourth consecutive year that Vietnam has taken part in the competition.
