Vietnam ranks in first place at 2024 Asian shuttlecock championships in Hue

VOV.VN - Following a string of impressive performances, the Vietnamese team topped the medal tally at the 2024 Asian Shuttlecock Championships, which concluded on August 26 in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

After five days of competition, the local team won a total of eight gold and six silver medals, thereby topping the overall rankings.

The Vietnamese team were followed by China with three golds, six silvers, and five bronzes.

Hong Kong (China) took third place with two golds, two silvers, and 10 bronzes.

This year saw the tournament attract the participation of nearly 240 athletes from nine countries and territories worldwide, including China, Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), Taiwan (China) Mongolia, Laos, Thailand, India, and Vietnam.

The organising board offered seven sets of medals across seven categories, namely the men’s team, the women’s team, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles. 

The event was first held in Hong Kong (China) back in 2023 and also saw Vietnam top the medal tally with 11 gold and three silver medals.
