Vietnam maintains top 100 spot in latest FIFA rankings ahead of ASEAN Cup 2026
VOV.VN - The Vietnam national football team has retained its place in the global top 100 in the July 2026 FIFA rankings, offering a strong boost ahead of its title defense at the upcoming ASEAN Cup 2026.
According to the latest update, the country gained 1.52 points following a 4-0 friendly victory over Myanmar. With a total of 1,227.20 points, Vietnam sits at 99th worldwide and second in Southeast Asia.
Thailand continues to lead the region, occupying 94th place globally with 1,250.80 points. Staying within the top 100 not only highlights Vietnam’s consistency on the international stage but also plays a crucial role in determining seeding groups for future FIFA and AFC competitions.
At the top of the global standings, Spain surged to the world No. 1 position with 1,995.88 points after earning 121.17 points from its 2026 World Cup victory. Argentina fell to second place after finishing as runners-up in the tournament.
France occupies third place, while England climbed to fourth following the World Cup. The remaining positions in the global top 10 are held by Brazil, Morocco, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Mexico.
