Vietnam inflict 1-0 defeat on Singapore at AFF U15 Championship
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s U15 team secured a 1-0 win over their Singaporean rivals in their third match of Group A at the AFF U15 Championship 2019 on July 31.
The nation’s youth team dominated the game from the opening minutes yet missed an array of chances to score in the first half.
Momentum in the game switched during the second half as the Singaporean team played with a bigger focus on attack.
However, this change in style was undone as one of the Singaporean footballers committed a foul in the box which gave Le Minh Toan the chance to convert a penalty kick in the 77th minute to ultimately hand Vietnam the win.
Earlier in the day, Indonesia’s U15 team drew 1-1 with East Timor.
Both Indonesia and East Timor are leading Group A on seven points. The Vietnamese team is currently ranked third with six points.
The Vietnam U15 team’s next fixture will be against Myanmar on August 2.
