Vietnam drop three notches in latest FIFA rankings

VOV.VN - The Vietnam national football team have fallen three places to 95th in the world, according to the latest FIFA rankings released in September.

This fall can be attributed to Vietnam’s two recent defeats against Saudi Arabia and Australia in the third round of Asian qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Despite this drop, Vietnam maintained their top spot as the leading team in Southeast Asia and 15th in Asia.

Moving up the rankings, Iran are the leading side in Asia, followed by Japan, Australia, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The three countries at the top of the FIFA rankings are Belgium, Brazil, and England.

It is anticipated that the rankings will continue to change in the coming months as matches are now taking place as part of the ongoing qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup.
