Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea (RoK) defeated Myanmar 6-1.
Lasting until August 30 at the Ba Ria city stadium, the Acecook Cup features teams from Myanmar, RoK, Russia and hosts Vietnam.
After competing in a round-robin format, the squad with the highest points will be crowned champion.
Vietnam, who are in second place, will play the Republic of Korea in the last match on August 30.
While the visitors just need a draw to secure the trophy, Vietnam must take a win for the title due to the Republic of Korea's better goal difference.
