VOV.VN - Vietnamese striker Ngan Thi Van Su has been nominated by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the best goal of the group stage at the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup.

Her opening goal in Vietnam vs India AFC Women's Asian Cup match, which ended in a 2–1 victory for Vietnam, earned the Vietnamese forward a place among the tournament’s standout strikes.

“A top-bin finish is always a joy to watch. Ngan Thi Van Su unleashed a sensational strike that soared beyond a full-stretch Panthoi Chanu and buried itself in the upper corner,” the AFC wrote on its website.

Alongside Ngan Thi Van Su, several other prominent players were nominated for the best goal vote, including Myong Yu Jong of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Wang Shuang of China, Park Soo Jeong of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Su Yu Hsuan of Chinese Taipei, Yuzuki Yamamoto of Japan, Mun Eun Ju of the RoK, Sam Kerr of Australia, Dildora Nozimova of Uzbekistan, and Manisha Kalyan of India.

However, head coach Mai Duc Chung’s team later suffered a 0–1 loss to Chinese Taipei and a 0–4 defeat to Japan, ending their campaign in the group stage.
