Truong Vinh Hien, Do Minh Quan win PPA Asia 500 Beijing Open 2026
VOV.VN - Vietnamese pickleball players Truong Vinh Hien and Do Minh Quan continued their impressive rise on the international stage by winning the men's professional doubles title at the PPA Asia 500 Beijing Open 2026 in Beijing, China, on June 21.
The Vietnamese duo secured the championship with a straight-games victory over Japan's Kenta Miyoshi and Australia's Robert Stirling in the final, capping off an outstanding campaign at one of Asia's premier pickleball tournaments.
Earlier, Truong Vinh Hien and Do Minh Quan advanced to the final after defeating China's Zefeng Li and American Nicholas Wiseman 2-0 (11-9, 11-2) in the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, they also delivered a convincing performance to overcome Vietnam’s Ly Hoang Nam and Japan's Yuta by scores of 11-9 and 11-7.
The PPA Asia 500 Beijing Open 2026 took place from June 17 to 21 at the National Tennis Centre of China, attracting many of the region's top pickleball players. Among the Vietnamese contingent, Truong Vinh Hien and Do Minh Quan achieved the best result, finishing the tournament with the men's doubles title.
The victory marked the second consecutive year that the pair has captured a PPA Tour Asia title in China. In 2025, they won the men's doubles championship at the Hangzhou Open, a milestone achievement that highlighted Vietnam's emergence in professional pickleball across Asia.
In addition to the doubles crown, Truong Vinh Hien earned a bronze medal in the men's singles. He rallied from a game down to defeat Australia’s Harrison Brown 2-1 (8-11, 11-4, 11-6) in the third-place playoff.
The strong performance in Beijing further demonstrates the rapid progress of Vietnamese pickleball and the growing competitiveness of the country's athletes on the Asian stage. The result is expected to provide additional momentum as Vietnamese players pursue greater success in upcoming international tournaments.
Elsewhere at the tournament, Hong Kit Wong (Hong Kong – China) won the men's singles title, while Australia’s Sahra Dennehy claimed the women's singles championship. Dennehy also teamed up with China’s Yufei Long to capture the women's doubles crown.
