SEA Games 31: Vietnam bags five golds in two sports

VOV.VN - Vietnamese athletes won five gold medals in Men’s beach handball and Kurash at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asian Games on May 10.

In Kurash, To Thi Trang secured the first gold medal after she outplayed Aclopen of the Philippines in the women's under 48 kg category.

Three of her teammates: Hong Mo, Bui Minh Quan and Tran Thuong later clinched another three gold medals in the women’s under 52kg, men’s under 81kg and men’s under 90kg weight categories respectively.

In Men’s beach handball, hosts Vietnam defeated their opponents the Philippines to successfully defend their championship title.

Vietnamese athletes also bagged two silver and two bronze medals in kurash and diving the same day.

On May 11, Vietnam will pin high hopes on Rowing, Kurash, Kickboxing and Pencat Silat.

Notably, the women’s football team of Vietnam will play their opponents the Philippines at 7pm on May 11.
