SEA Futsal tournament opens with Thailand inflicting heavy defeat on Cambodia

VOV.VN - The Futsal HDBank Championship Southeast Asia 2019 began at the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on October 21 with two opening matches, including Thailand taking on Cambodia, and Myanmar playing Timor-Leste.
Thailand’s futsal team have a proud history in this competition, having won the championship title 14 times in the previous 15 versions of the tournament. The Thai team started the tournament strongly with a 12-0 win against Cambodia. The first half saw the Thai team record a two-goal lead. |
The second half saw an avalanche of goals for the Thai team, with two more goals coming in the first three minutes of the second half, followed by an additional eight goals. At full time, the match finished with Thailand recording a thumping 12-0 victory over their Cambodian opponents. |

The match between Myanmar and Timor-Leste took place simultaneously, with Myanmar racing into a two goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Khin Zaw Lin and Hlaing Min Tun. |
Myanmar changed their tactics in the second half, resulting in an additional four goals. The final score saw Myanmar run out 6-1 winners over Timor Leste, ranking second in Group A behind Thailand. |
A ceremony opening the Futsal HDBank Championship Southeast Asia 2019 is scheduled to take place at the Phu Tho competition hall in Ho Chi Minh City at 7:30pm on October 21. The tournament is being jointly organised by Voice of Vietnam and the Vietnam Football Federation, with sponsorship coming from HDBank. |
The Vietnamese futsal team, wearing blue, will play Australian after the opening ceremony. A total of eight national teams will take part in the tournament, with the teams divided into two groups. The Vietnamese futsal team have been drawn in Group B along with Malaysia, Australia, and Indonesia. |
