Saudi Arabian referee called to officiate Indonesia-Vietnam match
VOV.VN - Referee Abdullah Al Shehri of Saudi Arabia has been assigned to officiate the upcoming match between Vietnam and Indonesia which will take place as the third match of Group B at the 2024 ASEAN Championship.
According to the schedule, the game will take place at the Phu Tho Stadium at 20:00 p.m. on December 15.
According to details given by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), Abdullah Al Shehri will be assisted by Ibrahim Aldakhil and Saad Alsubaie, also of Saudi Arabia.
Born in 1992, Al-Shehri originally began his refereeing career in the 2012 to 2013 season, officiating various youth competitions before later progressing to the Saudi Professional League (Roshn Saudi League) in 2018 to 2019 season.
In August,2023, Al-Shehri passed the AFC's stringent assessments to earn a spot on the Elite Panel of Video Assistant Referees (VAR) for the continent.
The match between Vietnam and Indonesia is viewed as the highlight of the group stage as it will decide who earns a place in the next round and the top spot in Group B.
In the group, the two teams are both on three points as they each earned victories in their respective opening matches.
