Pickleball World Cup 2026 in Da Nang expected to attract around 4,000 participants

VOV.VN - Around 4,000 athletes, coaches, referees, international officials, business representatives, support staff and spectators from 80 countries and territories are expected to take part in the Pickleball World Cup 2026, to be held in the central city of Da Nang from August 30 to September 6.

The Da Nang municipal People's Committee on July 7 announced the establishment of the tournament's organizing committee and technical subcommittee to oversee preparations for the event.

The international tournament will take place at multiple venues across Da Nang, including Tien Son Sports Palace, Tuyen Son Sports Village and several pickleball clubs in the city.

Organizers also plan to invite several of the world's top 20 pickleball players to serve as captains of their respective national teams.

The tournament is set to feature internationally renowned sports figures, including tennis legends, sports icons and ambassadors for the global pickleball movement, to help raise the tournament's international profile.

The city has seen growing interest in pickleball in recent years. Earlier this year, the Da Nang Pickleball Federation organized the 2026 Da Nang Student Pickleball Championship, attracting more than 330 athletes from 65 secondary schools, high schools, colleges and universities.
