Pham Van Mach clinches seventh world bodybuilding championship title

VOV.VN - Bodybuilder Pham Van Mach on November 14 earned the first gold medal for Vietnam in the men’s 55kg weight category at the ongoing 16th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships (WBPF) 2025 in Indonesia.

Mach outperformed several strong opponents, especially India’s top contenders Muru Ramamurthy and Shiv Choram Sundi, to secure the medal.

This is the seventh world championship title in the career of the An Giang–born star, who has turned 49 this year.

In addition, his fellowman Phan Huynh Duc also won the gold medal in the men’s 65kg weight category, marking his first-ever individual world title.

Meanwhile, other Vietnamese bodybuilder Le Hong Phong only finished second in the 60kg men’s category. But shortly after, Ho Chi Minh City-born athlete Ho Huy Binh delivered an outstanding performance to claim the top title in the men’s 70 kg class.

WBPF, taking place in Batam, Indonesia, attracted the participation of hundreds of competitors from around the world. It will last until November 16.
