Park Hang-seo finalises list of 25 players for national team
VOV.VN - Coach Park Hang-seo has removed seven players from the latest Vietnam national team training camp in order to submit a final list of 25 players for the men’s team ahead of their upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
As part of the final list announced on August 27, four players were dropped from the squad, including defenders Le Van Xuan and Bui Hoang Viet Anh, goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang, and midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh.
Furthermore, three footballers were forced to withdraw due to injuries, with the likes of defender Doan Van Hau, midfielder Tran Minh Vuong, and central defender Bui Tien Dung all removed from the team.
Moving forward these players will continue to practise with Vietnam’s U22 squad in order to be fit for future fixtures.
The senior team is scheduled to fly to Saudi Arabia on August 28 to kick off their qualifying campaign in Group B alongside the likes of Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
The national squad will take on hosts Saudi Arabia on September 2, before returning to the nation to take on Australia five days later.
This will mark the first time in history that Vietnam has made it into the third and final qualifying round of the World Cup.
