National team holds first training session in Qatar

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese men’s football team began their training camp in Qatar on December 28 in preparation for the upcoming Asian Cup 2019 finals.

The team, led by head coach Park Hang Seo, took part in their first training session in Qatar at 8pm Vietnam time (4pm Qatar time) on December 28.

Both the weather and the quality of the training facilities in Qatar are favourable for the Vietnamese footballers to practice.

The footballers arrived in Qatar after a long journey and they must also adapt to the time difference, therefore the session mainly involved light exercise.

The footballers enjoy some relaxing small-sided games to warm-up.

Head coach Park Hang Seo focused the session largely on movement and group excersies.

Mr Park instructs the coaches to test the technical skills of the goalkeepers and new players.

As usual, the goalkeepers took part in an individual training routine.

Trong Hoang (C) trained alone because he is nursing a light injury, he with new Brazilian fitness coach Willander Fonseca.

The national squad will hold two more training sessions before competing against the Philippines in a friendly match on December 31. The game will serve as a warm-up for the Asian Cup 2019 in January.

They will then travel to the UAE on January 4 to prepare for their first match in Group D against Iraq on January 8. They will play Iran on January 12 and then Yemen on January 16.
