National team defeat Philipines 4-2 in Asian Cup warm up
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese men’s football team beat the Philippines 4-2 in a friendly match on December 31 during their training camp in Qatar held as preparation for the upcoming Asian Cup.
The friendly match served as a warm-up for the Asian Cup 2019 finals. The match was held in 3 stages, with each stage lasting for 30 minutes. |
During the first 30 minutes, the score remained goalless, although the Vietnamese players dominated the game and had the much better chances to score. |
In the second stage, Quang Hai opened the scoring. Two minutes later, Van Duc added another to make the score 2-0. |
After going 2-0 up, head coach Park Hang Seo decided to rotate the team for rest of the game. The Philippines were then able to create better chances, and claimed 2 goals to make the score 2-2. |
Van Hau helped restore Vietnam’s lead during the final minutes of the second stage. |
A penalty by Ngoc Hai brought the fourth goal for Vietnam. The score remained 4-2 for the rest of the game. |
Vietnam’s 4-2 victory over the Philippines, stands the national team in good stead ahead of the Asian Cup 2019 finals. |
Head coach Park Hang Seo said the result of the friendly match was not important as he wanted to give the Vietnamese footballers a run out ahead of the tournament. |
