National paragliding Championship 2020 kicks off in Da Nang
VOV.VN - A beach located in Phuoc My commune of Son Tra district in the central city of Da Nang hosted the start of the National paragliding Championship 2020 on July 18.
The event, co-organised by the central city’s Department of Culture and Sports, attracted the participation of 110 paragliders from ten different clubs based nationwide with participants competing in two categories; Individual and Team.
According to the competition’s organising board, the occasion is being held with the aim of evaluating the qualifications and skills of local paragliders, therefore helping them gain experience when competing at regional and global paragliding competitions in the future.
The event also serves as a healthy environment for athletes and paragliding lovers throughout the country to gather and further promote the development of the sport nationally. Moreover, the occasion serves to strengthen integration between Vietnam and other countries through the sport of paragliding.
Furthermore, visitors to the event can also admire the Paramotor Paragliding performance put on by athletes.
The National paragliding Championship 2020 is scheduled to run until the afternoon of July 19.
