VOV.VN -Nguyen Tien Minh, Vietnam’s leading badminton player, has suffered elimination from the Caffino Indonesia International Challenger, while his wife, Vu Thi Trang, has made it into the semi-finals of the tournament.

During the quarter-final stage of the men’s singles event on October 25, Minh, world No.58, enjoyed a strong start by ending the first set with a score of 21/9. Despite the positive start, his rival Rumbay, world No.101, representing host nation Indonesia, came back to beat Minh 21/15 and 21/19. With three sets played the match concluded with a final score of 2-1 in favour of Rumbay.

Elsewhere, in the women’s singles event, Vu Thi Trang, world No.57, enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win over Kim Na Yeong of the Republic of Korea, world No.373, to progress to the competition’s semi-finals.

Trang is scheduled to take on Takahashi Asuka of Japan, world No.100, in her next match.
