Korean coach Kim Han-yoon named Vietnam U23 manager

The Korean, who previously coached Seoul FC, will lead the U23 team in a friendly match against Myanmar in June. The friendly will take place whilst the full national team takes part in the King’s Cup, which is set to take place between June 5 and June 8.

Park Hang Seo had previously been managing both the full national team and the U23 team simultaneously. However, due to the schedule clash, he will be unable to manage both teams at the same time. As a result, the Korean manager has invited his countryman Kim Han-yoon to join the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) as a member of the management team.

Kim Han-yoon, 44, is a famous former midfielder in the K-League. His playing career saw him turn out for a number of big clubs, such as Pohang Steelers and Seoul FC. He was also capped by the Korean national team four times before moving into coaching in 2011.

Currently, it is unclear how long Kim Han-yoon will be managing the Vietnam U23 side for.

It had been planned that Park Hang Seo would take charge of of the side competing in the SEA Games 30 this November as well as the 2020 AFC U23 Championship finals.
