HDBank National Futsal Cup 2026 set for September 5 in HCM City
VOV.VN - HDBank National Futsal Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 5 to 14 with the participation of eight teams from across the country, organisers – Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and HDBank – announced on August 27.
The eight participating teams are Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Son Bac, Sahako, Hanoi, Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Titans Ho Chi Minh City, Luxury Ha Long and Ho Chi Minh City Youth, with matches to be played at Lanh Binh Thang Gymnasium in Binh Thoi Ward.
The 2026 edition also marks the 10th year of cooperation among VOV, VFF and HDBank in organising and developing national futsal competitions.
According to VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang, the decade-long partnership has not only helped establish an official competition system but also created a regular and professional playing environment while bringing futsal closer to the public through multiplatform media coverage.
Entering its 10th year, organisers aim to further improve the tournament’s sporting quality, appeal and media reach.
The HDBank National Futsal Cup 2026 comes as Vietnam futsal has shown encouraging signs on the international stage. Vietnam recently finished runners-up at the Continental Futsal Championship 2026 held in Thailand after going unbeaten against Russia, Thailand, Afghanistan and New Zealand.
The national team had earlier reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Indonesia and finished third at the 2026 ASEAN Futsal Championship.
These results are expected to generate greater interest in domestic competition, where players can gain regular match experience, improve their level and compete for opportunities to join the national team.
VFF Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Minh Chau said the tournament is an important part of Vietnam’s official futsal competition system, providing a competitive environment for players to develop and helping the federation identify new prospects for the national team.
Matches at the HDBank National Futsal Cup 2026 will be broadcast live on SCTV22 and streamed on VOVLive and the VOVFutsal digital ecosystem, including YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.
Official channels of the VFF and SCTV, along with selected sports platforms, will also carry matches under the tournament’s broadcast rights and signal arrangements.
