HCM City to play host to MMA show in September

VOV.VN -Singapore-based ONE Championship, Asia's largest global producer of martial arts tournaments, has announced that it will hold an MMA event titled “ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH” in Vietnam for the first time.

The show, due to take place at the Phu Tho stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on September 6, looks set to attract a number of well-known martial artists, including Vietnamese fighters Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat and Nguyen Thanh Tung, Azwan Che Wil of Malaysia, Shahzaib Rindh of Pakistan, Mohamad Fakri Bin Yusoff of Malaysia, and Vietnamese-British Michael Pham.

During the event, talented Vietnamese martial artist Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat will take on Azwan Che Wil while Thanh Tung is scheduled to face Shahzaib Rindh.

The show will also see Muay Thai artist Michael Pham compete against Mohamad Fakri Bin Yusoff.

The ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH event is to be broadcast live to more than 130 countries.

ONE Championship was first launched by Chatri Sityodtong in 2011 as a pioneering Asian MMA promotional firm with the aim of showcasing a variation of different martial arts.

The live sports producer claims to be the world’s largest martial arts organisation that features bouts from across the full spectrum of martial arts including Muay Thai, kickboxing, and karate, among others.

ONE Championship has so far held 83 MMA shows in Asian destinations such as Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Taipei, Phnom Penh, Beijing, Guangzhou, Yangon, Macau, and Bangkok.

The scheduled event in Vietnam will be the largest of its kind in Asia.
