FIFA President visits 60,000-seat stadium project in Vietnam
VOV.VN - FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the PVF sports complex project in northern Hung Yen province on the morning of August 27 as part of his working trip to Vietnam.
The visit followed his attendance at the second leg of the 2026 ASEAN Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand at Hanoi's My Dinh National Stadium on August 26.
In Hung Yen, the FIFA chief toured the construction sites of the new PVF stadium and an indoor sports arena. Infantino expressed high regard for Vietnam's football development, praising the nation's strategic investments in modern infrastructure, training facilities, and long-term ecosystem growth.
Construction of the 60,000-seat PVF stadium began in October 2025, with the venue featuring Vietnam's first retractable roof system and state-of-the-art hybrid turf technology. Scheduled for completion in March 2027, it aims to host major international sporting matches alongside large-scale cultural and entertainment events.
