VOV.VN - During Vietnam’s final penalty scored by Bui Tien Dung, an array of emotions were captured by the nation’s footballers as Vietnam defeated Jordan 4-2 to go through to the Asian Cup quarter-finals for the first time.
Before Bui Tien Dung scored the final penalty of the shootout, every Vietnamese footballer showed signs of stress. Xuan Truong and Van Toan bowed their heads to the ground, Van Hau stared up at the sky, Tien Linh and Hung Dung looked away, meanwhile Quang Hai decided to turn his back on the goal, although he watched on the stadium’s giant screen. |
On January 20, 2018, Bui Tien Dung scored the final penalty in the shootout against Iraq at the AFC U23 Championships. One year later and on the same day, January 20, 2019, Tien Dung scored the final penalty in the shootout against Jordan, helping Vietnam go through to Asian Cup quarter-finals for the first time. |
