DanceSport Vietnam wins two medals at WDSF Solo Latin World Championship
VOV.VN - Vietnam won one silver medal and one bronze medal at the 2026 WDSF World Championship Solo Latin Female Adult, held on June 28 in Bremen, Germany, reaffirming its strong presence in international DanceSport.
The Solo Latin Female Adult event attracted 81 outstanding athletes from countries and territories around the world.
Vietnam’s representatives delivered impressive performances to secure two podium finishes: Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen won silver, while Nguyen Hoang Ngoc claimed bronze.
The result marked a notable achievement for Vietnamese DanceSport at WDSF’s highest-level competition for the Solo Latin category.
Notably, Nha Uyen maintained her strong form after winning bronze at the 2025 World Championship, while Nguyen Hoang Ngoc reached the world championship podium for the first time, helping Vietnam secure two medals in a single world championship edition.
The WDSF World Championship Solo Latin Female Adult is the highest-level competition organised by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) for female solo athletes competing in the Latin category.
Unlike traditional pair events, athletes compete and are judged entirely on individual technique, performance across the five Latin dances- Samba, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive- as well as presentation skills, musicality and artistry.
The 2026 championship took place as part of the Bremen DanceSport Festival 2026, one of Europe’s largest DanceSport festivals.
The festival ran from June 26 to 28, gathering 1,292 athletes from 51 countries and territories, with 204 solo athletes and 544 pairs competing in multiple WDSF events.
