Cong Phuong links up with national squad for training session in Thailand

VOV.VN - The Vietnam men’s national football team held their second training session in Thailand on September 2 in preparation for their first match of the World Cup 2022 qualification campaign, with Cong Phuong arriving from Belgium to join up with the rest of the team.

The national team players took part in their second practice on September 2 ahead of their opening fixture against Thailand in the Asian zone’s second qualifying round for the World Cup 2022.
With Cong Phuong jetting in directly from Belgium, he arrived in Thailand at 5:30am before linking up with his teammates at 10:30am on the same day to take part in training.

Despite having only just made it off of a long-haul flight, Cong Phuong showed no signs of being tired as head coach Park Hang-seo led the session.

Park Hang-seo paid close attention to the footballers as he starts to decide who will play in the upcoming fixture.

Although the training session was largely held behind closed doors, the media were allowed to observe the first 20 minutes.
One notable absentee is defender Van Hau who is in the Netherlands completing his medical tests ahead of a move to Dutch side SC Heerenveen. He will rejoin the team on September 3.
Head coach Park Hang-seo will have to cut his squad down to 23 on September 4, with Vietnam taking on Thailand a day later.
