Cong An Ha Noi retain National Super Cup after record 5-0 win
VOV.VN - Cong An Ha Noi FC (Hanoi Police FC) crushed Ho Chi Minh City Police FC 5-0 at Hang Day Stadium on August 30 to retain the Vietnamese National Super Cup and make a powerful start to the 2026-27 season.
Cong An Ha Noi quickly took control after kickoff, putting Ho Chi Minh City Police under sustained pressure.
In the eighth minute, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh delivered from the left for Alan to head home and open the scoring.
Alan struck again in the 27th minute after capitalising on a defensive mistake to complete his brace and double Cong An Ha Noi’s lead.
Before halftime, Brayan Perea received a pass from Alan, rounded goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang and scored into an empty net to make it 3-0.
Ho Chi Minh City Police struggled to deal with Cong An Ha Noi’s attacking pressure, while Le Giang was forced into several saves to prevent an even wider margin.
After the break, Cong An Ha Noi continued to dominate possession and territory. Coach Mano Polking introduced Nguyen Dinh Bac, and the Vietnam international quickly made an impact, scoring in the 69th minute to put his side 4-0 ahead.
Three minutes later, Frans Putros headed home the fifth goal to complete the emphatic victory.
The 5-0 victory secured the National Super Cup for Cong An Ha Noi for the second consecutive year. The club had previously won the title against the same opponents and retained it with another convincing performance.
The victory also gives Cong An Ha Noi an impressive start to the 2026-27 V.League 1 season, with the team carrying momentum from its Super Cup triumph into the new campaign.
The five-goal margin is notable in the history of the Vietnamese National Super Cup. Cong An Ha Noi’s 5-0 victory has been reported as the biggest winning margin in the history of the National Super Cup since 1999, adding another milestone to the club’s successful title defence.
With the National Super Cup secured for a second straight year and a record-breaking 5-0 scoreline, Cong An Ha Noi have made an emphatic opening statement ahead of the new domestic season.
