Chief coach Park Hang-seo vaccinated against COVID-19
VOV.VN - Chief coach of the national football squad Park Hang-seo and his assistants in the coaching team were inoculated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Hanoi on April 5 in preparation for the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
Except for goalkeeper Dang Van Lam, who is playing in Japan, other players of the national line-up are expected to get the jabs on April 7, 8, 9 and 13, according to the Vietnam Football Federation. (VFF).
Thirty-four players will gather in mid-May for a training camp to prepare for World Cup 2022 qualifiers of the Asian region.
Coach Park and his assistants are currently fanning out to V-League matches to seek new faces for the national team.
The upcoming World Cup qualifiers would be a big test for the Korean strategist as some of his hopefuls, including midfielders Do Hung Dung and Doan Van Hau are unlikely to completely recover from injuries for the games.
In addition, other midfielders Tran Dinh Trong and Nguyen Trong Hoang will be absent from their first game versus Indonesia due to their suspensions.
Vietnam are scheduled to take on Malaysia on June 7, Indonesia on June 11, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on June 15. All the games will take place in the UAE.
