Wartime martyrs repatriated from Cambodia for reburial in An Giang

VOV.VN - A ceremony was held in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on November 25 to rebury 54 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died either in the locality or in Cambodia during previous conflicts.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, chairman of the An Giang provincial administration, emphasised that the search for the remains of fallen soldiers is the responsibility of present-day generations, showing that Vietnamese people respect those who laid down their lives during lofty international missions.

The remains were unearthed by teams K90 and K93 during the 2020 - 2021 dry season in both An Giang and Cambodia.

Only two sets were identified, and the remainder were unaccounted for.
