VOV, RTV Slovenia seek closer media cooperation in digital era

The VOV delegation, led by Deputy General Director Pham Manh Hung, had a working session with RTV Slovenia,   while Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria and Slovenia Vu Le Thai Hoang also attended the program.

RTV Slovenia is one of Europe's long-established public broadcasters, with a history spanning nearly a century. A member of the European Broadcasting Union, it is also Slovenia's largest media organization. Operating on a non-profit basis, the broadcaster provides independent and impartial news services while promoting the country's culture.

On behalf of RTV Slovenia, President of the Management Board Natalija Gorščak gave an overview of the broadcaster's operations. RTV Slovenia currently operates seven radio channels, including three national channels, two regional channels and two channels serving ethnic minority communities, as well as international and online radio services. It also runs five television channels, together with an online news portal and other digital platforms, creating Slovenia's largest multi-platform media network.

She expressed hope that the VOV delegation's visit will further expand cooperation between the two broadcasters, particularly in content related to culture, music and tourism.

VOV Deputy General Director Pham Manh Hung thanked RTV Slovenia for its warm reception and open exchange of views, and outlined VOV's history and development. He said the broadcaster has adopted a comprehensive strategy to modernize its content, formats and management practices to meet new demands and better serve today's audiences, particularly young listeners and viewers.

VOV has also introduced a range of initiatives prioritizing development across digital platforms, enhancing its role as one of Vietnam's leading media organizations. The VOV leader expressed hope that the two broadcasters will expand cooperation through news, programme and copyright exchanges, helping people in both countries gain a better understanding of each other while forging bilateral ties, particularly in such areas as culture and tourism.

VOV has long taken a close interest in Slovenia's advances in science and technology and expressed hope that RTV Slovenia will share more of its experience in modern media management. Such experience will provide valuable reference material for Vietnamese audiences while helping further strengthen ties between the two countries through media cooperation, Hung added.

Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang welcomed the potential for closer cooperation between the two broadcasters and pledged continued support for joint initiatives, particularly in culture, tourism and music. He also reaffirmed that the Vietnamese mission in Slovenia will continue supporting cooperation between VOV and Slovenian partners, thereby contributing to stronger external communications, promoting Vietnam's image abroad and deepening the friendship between the two countries.

During the visit, the VOV delegation also met with editors and managers from RTV Slovenia, toured its television and radio studios and production facilities, and exchanged experience in digital content development, news archiving, the preservation of archival materials, podcast production, audience-focused content development and digital distribution. The two sides also discussed integrating different forms of journalism into a unified production process.
