VOV and Cuban partner ink new media cooperation agreement

VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam Radio (VOV) and the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communication (ICS) have signed a new agreement to increase cooperation between the two media organisations.

The document was signed in Havana by VOV Vice President Pham Manh Hung and ICS President Alfonso Noya Martínez during Hung’s working visit to Cuba from September 4-7.

Under the signed agreement, both sides will enhance cooperation in the exchange of news, information, digital content, and broadcasting programs related to culture, history, music, and tourism.

They will collaborate on the production and co-production of radio and television programs related to culture, history, and tourism for broadcast through their respective media channels.

In addition to program exchange and training for reporters and editors, they will exchange high-level delegations to discuss professional skills and management, as well as the production of radio and television programs.

VOV Vice President Pham Manh Hung expressed hope that both sides would engage in regular exchanges to implement the agreement in a practical and effective manner, reflecting the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cuba in general, and between the two media organizations in particular.

VOV values assistance provided by Cuban radio during the years of war and seeks to increase cooperation that aligns with current circumstances and conditions, said Hung.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long hailed the signing of the new cooperation agreement between VOV and ICS, and affirmed that the embassy will closely coordinate with the two media agencies to effectively and substantially implement the agreement.

For his part, Alfonso Noya Martínez suggested that both sides enhance cooperation by exchanging current news information about each country and programs that introduce culture and lifestyles to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.

He also emphasized the importance of sharing experience between the two media agencies to maintain their leading role in information dissemination, as well as addressing challenges in digital transformation and upgrading broadcasting technology.

This is the third cooperation agreement between VOV and ICS following the signing of similar documents in 2013 and 2018.
