Vietnam’s satellite sends back first photos
The first images taken by Vietnamese satellite MicroDragon have been sent to a land station in Japan, according to the Vietnam National Space Centre under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
The satellite took images of Australia’s waters at an altitude of about 512 km at 6:30am on January 23 (Vietnam time). Earlier, it captured photos of the US at 0:11am of January 22.
All of the satellite’s cameras and the whole system will be gradually adjusted to determine its optimal parameters.
MicroDragon was launched into space at 9:50 am in Japan on January 18 (local time).
The satellite was developed by 36 Vietnamese engineers from the Vietnam National Space Centre.
